Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor
Compassionate Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor needed! The counselor will be in charge of assisting patients through medically assisted treatments and offering techniques for handling opioid addiction. The counselor conducts individual sessions and group sessions to assist with crisis management and coping strategies. The counselor will evaluate patients' progress during counseling and collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other counselors to assist the patients in achieving overall outcomes.
Job Description
- Provide individual and group counseling services; direct service hours at regularly scheduled intervals; coordinate all services throughout treatment
- Ensure efficient and effective delivery of counseling services to all patients
- Complete bio-psychosocial assessments
- Facilitate, establish, and review with each patient the initial treatment plan
- Develop aftercare plans and discharge plans
- Other related duties as determined by supervisor
Requirements
- Current Louisiana License as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
- Unable to consider provisional licensed candidates
- Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals
- Must demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude toward our patient population
- Ability to collaborate with compassionate and knowledgeable counseling team members
- Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screen
