Kidney Transplant Medical Director

Job Description:

• Provide strategic leadership and clinical expertise for the Kidney Transplant Program.
• Oversee the transplant program, including patient care, staff management, and program development.
• Lead, mentor, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

Position Highlights:

• Clinical Leadership: Provide medical oversight of the transplant program and ensure immediate availability of services when an organ is offered for transplantation.
• Program Oversight: Represent Baystate in outreach and program development to increase the number of transplant candidates.
• Strategic Development: Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance the transplant program, including quality improvement initiatives and service expansion.
• Research and Education: Engage in clinical research related to kidney transplantation and contribute to the training of Nephrology fellows in Transplant Nephrology.
• Patient Care: Provide clinical care to renal transplant patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

Qualifications:

• Medical Degree: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.
• Board Certification: Board-certified in Nephrology and Internal Medicine.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in kidney transplantation. Transplant Nephrology Fellowship required. Leadership experience preferred.
• Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to Excellence: Demonstrated commitment to advancing patient care, quality improvement, and clinical research in transplantation.
