    Job Description:

    • Perform radiographic procedures in accordance with established professional and departmental standards and procedures
    • Demonstrate a complete working knowledge of the bone density equipment within the department
    • Provide radiation protection to patients, staff, and self according to prescribed safety standards
    • Maintain exposure reading within ALARA limits, as evidenced by monthly radiation exposure reports
    • Correctly identify patients, compare provider script to order requisition, and ensure the exam and ordering provider are accurate
    • Consult with the radiologist as necessary
    • Explain procedures to patients/families and answer any questions to ease anxiety and assure patient cooperation
    • Obtain an adequate clinical history
    • Assist in the movement of patients to and from wheelchairs, stretchers, and radiographic tables
    • Verify images in PACS and track patients according to department procedure
    • Act as a resource to radiography students and other technologists as required by the organization
    • Ensure rooms are stocked with appropriate supplies and have the required supplies readily available for procedures
    • Rotate stock in an orderly fashion and discard expired items
    • Perform visual preventive safety inspections, identify problems, and communicate to immediate supervisor
    • Complete routine QC
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

    • 2 years as a Registered Radiologic Technologist
    • Graduate of accredited School of Radiography

    Credentials:

    • DE RADIATION - Delaware State Radiation license
    • DE LICENSED - Licensed in the state of DE
    • BLS - Basic Life Saving certification

    Education:

    • Associate's Degree in a related field

    Other Information:

    Entry USD $29.41/Hr.
