    Job Description:

    • Perform and assist Physicians in all aspects of the Interventional Radiology Department in accordance with established standards and procedures.
    • Operate and maintain associated equipment within the interventional laboratory.
    • Render patient care utilizing past radiological and cardiovascular education and experience.
    • Required to take call on a rotational basis.

    Responsibilities:

    • Consult with the physician concerning procedures.
    • Obtain patient history, lab values, and clinical data.
    • Greet patients, confirming their identification and introducing yourself.
    • Provide explanations and answer questions from patients and family regarding procedures.
    • Assist physician in circulator and scrub tech roles; anticipate needs of doctor and/or scrub tech.
    • Complete procedural paperwork and post-process images.
    • Monitor patients' vital signs and administer moderate sedation as per hospital policy.
    • Provide radiation protection to patients, staff, and self; comply with safety standards.
    • Adjust factors to minimize radiation exposure and maximize visualization of anatomy.
    • Demonstrate complete working knowledge of Radiological Equipment.
    • Schedule patients for special procedures and coordinate scheduling with other areas.
    • Maintain daily work log and routinely follow up on all patients.
    • Perform MRA 3D reconstruction.
    • Conduct visual preventive maintenance checks and quality control tests on assigned equipment.
    • Recognize emergency situations and initiate code procedures or administer first aid or CPR as needed.

    Qualifications:

    • Ability to push/pull up to 150 lbs and lift up to 50 lbs.
    • Ability to wear a lead apron for prolonged periods.
    • Clear communication skills both written and verbal.
    • Knowledge and experience with Electronic Health Records.

    Credentials:

    • ARRT-RT - Radiological Tech
    • BLS - Basic Life Saving certification
    • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support

    Education:

    • Associate's Degree

    • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding patients and team members.
    • Able to withstand crisis situations.
    • Provides customer service to patients, team members, and visitors.
