Job Description:

• Assist the Director/Manager in technical management, ensuring day-to-day operations of the area.
• Serve as a resource person for team members.
• Ensure compliance with policies/procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Responsible for technical performance within the pathology laboratory.
• Perform routine and complex analyses in assigned areas.
• Recognize, troubleshoot, and initiate corrective action for problems.
• Act in the best interest of patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and organize workflow to maximize productivity while maintaining quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
• Develop and monitor process improvements, taking action where appropriate.
• Ensure team members maintain departmental policies/procedures and adhere to quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Support department by monitoring regulatory/accreditation compliance.
• Train new and current team members and students.
• Provide feedback to leadership about team members' performance.
• Participate in the interview process and provide feedback on candidates.

Qualifications:

• Minimum two years in a related field.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to relate well with people of diverse backgrounds.
• Demonstration of creativity, initiative, and problem-solving.
• ASCP-MT or MLT or equivalent preferred.

Skills and Competencies:

• Clear communication skills both written and verbal.
• Ability to keep confidential information regarding patients and team members.
• Ability to withstand crisis situations.
• Skills to provide customer service to patients, team members, and visitors.
• Knowledge and experience with electronic health records.

Education:

• Associate's degree in a related field.

Compensation:

• Entry: USD $31.83/Hr.
• Expert: USD $49.34/Hr.
