    Job Description:

    • Perform diagnostic procedures utilizing radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with established professional and departmental standards and procedures.
    • Review consultation requests, checking for special instructions from requesting physicians and consult with the Radiologist as necessary.
    • Complete all departmental processes for resulting and documentation of exams.
    • Pleasantly greet patients, confirming their identification and introducing yourself.
    • Completely explain examination procedures to the patient and their family if present.
    • Demonstrate a complete working knowledge of all equipment located within the Nuclear Medicine department.
    • Prepare, calibrate, document accurately, and administer radiopharmaceuticals for administration by injection, ingestion, and inhalation methods.
    • Perform in vivo and in vitro diagnostic Nuclear Medicine procedures according to established protocols.
    • Maintain a daily activities log.
    • Ensure appropriate storage and ordering of supplies for the Nuclear Medicine area.
    • Monitor and report supplies in shortage and special order items.
    • Perform visual preventive safety inspections and conduct daily quality assurance tests on all equipment.
    • Identify any problems and communicate them to the immediate supervisor.
    • Evaluate recorded images for technical quality and demonstrate anatomy under investigation through proper positioning.
    • Provide radiation protection to patients, staff, and self according to prescribed safety standards and effectively operate radiation detection equipment.
    • Recognize emergency situations, initiate code procedures, and administer first aid or CPR as needed.
    • Assure access to care by adding on exams whenever possible, coordinating efforts with other departments, and seeking alternatives when requested add-on is not possible.
    • Verify correct order entry and supply charging.

    Requirements:

    • One year of Nuclear Medicine experience preferred.
    • BLS - Basic Life Saving certification.
    • ARRT-N or CNMT Nuclear Medicine Technology certification.
    • Associates Degree in a related field.
    • Must complete Point of Care Testing training as part of Department Orientation.
    • Ability to lift patients up to 50 lbs.

    • Able to withstand crisis situations.
    • Has skills to provide customer service to patients, team members, and visitors.
    • Knowledge and experience with Electronic Health Records.

    Salary Range:

    • Entry: USD $33.12/Hr.
    • Expert: USD $51.34/Hr.
