    Job Description:

    • Assist the physical therapist in implementing treatment programs according to the plan of care
    • Administer modalities, train patients in therapeutic exercise, transfers, and gait training
    • Supervise Physical Therapy Aides, volunteers, and students as needed

    Responsibilities:

    • Excel in professional growth and development
    • Willingness to work in multiple venues and adjust work schedule to meet department mission
    • Provide community education in conjunction with hospital education programs
    • Recognize the need for a change in the plan of care and communicate effectively with the supervising therapist
    • Emphasize and achieve continuity of care through effective documentation and verbal communication
    • Maintain professional demeanor and appearance
    • Safely transfer patients with significant physical and/or mental impairment

    Qualifications:

    • Will consider a new graduate
    • Two years of Physical Therapy Assistant experience preferred

    Competencies and Skills:

    • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Ability to keep confidential information regarding patients and team members
    • Ability to withstand crisis situations
    • Customer service skills for patients, team members, and visitors
    • Knowledge and experience with Electronic Health Records
    • Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, etc.

    Credentials:

    • PTA - Physical Therapy Assistant
    • BLS - Basic Life Saving certification

    Education:

    • Associate degree
