    Job Description:

    • Performs radiographic procedures in accordance with established professional and departmental standards and procedures.

    Responsibilities:

    • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Radiologic principles and theory, anatomy, and pathology processes utilizing the most appropriate technique and/or positioning for optimal examinations.
    • Adheres to department policies and protocols ensuring all examinations are optimized for interpretation.
    • Assists in teaching radiography students sound radiography principles as required.
    • Communicates effectively with patients to obtain clinical history and informed consent to assist the physician in optimizing performance and interpretation of the examination.
    • Explains procedures to patients/families and answers any questions to ease anxiety and assure patient cooperation.
    • Recognizes clinical and/or emergent problems that may interfere with exams and takes appropriate action to resolve them.
    • Correctly identifies patients and their files ensuring a high degree of accuracy.
    • Tracks patients according to department procedures and identifies errors for immediate correction.
    • Maintains exposure readings within the As Low As Reasonably Achievable limits.
    • Demonstrates the effective use of radiation protection procedures with collimation devices and protective shielding.
    • Ensures patient safety in the department by using side rails, braking mechanisms, and patient monitoring.
    • Maintains an orderly, safe, and clean environment, ensuring rooms are stocked with appropriate supplies.
    • Operates imaging and other related equipment according to manufacturer's specifications.
    • Stays abreast of technological changes and updates through seminars and in-services.
    • Participates in department/hospital performance improvement initiatives, in-services, and meetings.

    Qualifications:

    • Recent hospital experience preferred as a Radiologist Technologist.
    • Basic computer skills.
    • Capability to perform on-call, shift, holiday, and weekends when required.

    Skills:

    • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Ability to keep confidential information regarding patients and team members.
    • Ability to withstand crisis situations.
    • Provides customer service to patients, team members, and visitors.
    • Knowledge and experience with Electronic Health Records.

    Credentials:

    • DE Licensed - Licensed in state of Delaware.
    • BLS - Basic Life Saving certification.
    • DE Radiation - Delaware State Radiation license.

    Education:

    • Associates Degree in a related field.

    Compensation:

    • Entry: USD $28.26/hr
    • Expert: USD $43.80/hr
