    Job Description:

    • Provides direct and indirect patient care to implement treatment programs in response to physician referrals and in accordance with a plan of care jointly developed.
    • The speech therapist's scope of practice includes assessment and training in areas such as aphasia, apraxia, dysarthria, cognitive impairment, voice disorders including laryngectomy, tracheostomy, ventilator-dependent patients, and dysphagia.

    Responsibilities:

    • Excel in professional growth and development.
    • Willing to work in multiple locations and adjust work schedule to meet department mission.
    • Maintain awareness of hospital and department changes (e.g., policy and procedure, equipment changes).
    • Ability to correctly identify problems and develop a treatment plan at the conclusion of the initial evaluation.
    • Emphasize and achieve continuity of care through effective documentation and verbal communication.
    • Adequate computer skills to achieve accurate billing and documentation.
    • Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance.
    • Ensure federal, state, and hospital regulatory compliance.
    • Ability to respond to specific task requests.
    • Demonstrate clinical competence.
