RN Nurse Manager

The RN Nurse Manager is an integral part of the Nurse Management team with a focus on establishing standards of care, competencies, policies, and procedures in quality, cost-efficient, and effective skin care wound management for all clinical staff, including Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Physical Therapists, while working with physicians.

Job Description

• Establish standards of care, competencies, policies, and procedures in skin care wound management for clinical staff.
• Empower clinical staff to effectively assess wounds, recommend appropriate protocols, and advocate with physicians.
• Educate staff on protocols that preserve the integrity of the skin and promote wound healing.
• Oversee the ulcer prevention and management program, including tracking and reporting pressure ulcers.
• Manage the acquisition and appropriate use of specialty beds, pressure reduction devices, compression devices, and wound vacuum systems.
• Identify patient needs and communicate those needs to the patient's physician.
• Provide basic wound care training and orientation to all new nursing and therapy staff upon hire; provide ongoing in-services and training related to skin and wound care.
• Participate in performance improvement activities.

Requirements

• Experience in geriatrics.
• Familiarity with nursing home and skilled nursing facility settings.
