    Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse)

    Location: Springfield, Missouri

    Job Description:

    • Perform as a Medical Support Specialist to support plasma center operations.
    • Determine donor eligibility and manage donor adverse events.
    • Review laboratory test results and notify donors of unsuitable results.
    • Work under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician.
    • Familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry.
    • Provide center-level support of environmental, health, and safety (EHS).

    Responsibilities:

    • Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies.
    • Refer to the Center Physician for unacceptable findings or guidance.
    • Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
    • Manage employee incidents and refer to EHS guidance.
    • Serve as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized.

    Requirements:

    • High school diploma or equivalent, including a recognized nursing program.
    • Licensed or certified as an EMT-Paramedic in the state.
    • Current CPR and AED certification.
    • Fulfill state requirements for IV therapy.
    • Complete FDA-approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
    • Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
