Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse)
Location: Springfield, Missouri
Job Description:
- Perform as a Medical Support Specialist to support plasma center operations.
- Determine donor eligibility and manage donor adverse events.
- Review laboratory test results and notify donors of unsuitable results.
- Work under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician.
- Familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry.
- Provide center-level support of environmental, health, and safety (EHS).
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies.
- Refer to the Center Physician for unacceptable findings or guidance.
- Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and refer to EHS guidance.
- Serve as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent, including a recognized nursing program.
- Licensed or certified as an EMT-Paramedic in the state.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfill state requirements for IV therapy.
- Complete FDA-approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
