    CT Technologist

    Location: Boston, Massachusetts

    Job Description:

    • Performs routine imaging examinations in CT on a scheduled and emergency basis.
    • Reviews and evaluates requisitions for CT imaging procedures, abstracting data from patient charts and determining appropriateness of procedure prescribed given diagnosis and clinical signs for CT examinations.
    • Identifies patients according to Hospital Policy with 2 identifiers.
    • Performs basic imaging analysis (e.g. 3D).
    • Selects appropriate equipment and technical factors to identify pathologic and normal anatomy.
    • Assesses patients' and parents' physical and emotional status and ability to respond to instructions and develops plan for adjusting to patients' specific needs.
    • Explains the examination and is able to answer questions from patient and parents regarding the exam and Radiation exposure, practicing ALARA.
    • Consistently provides exceptional care and exceptional service.
    • Follows Departmental QC/Exam Data Integrity Workflow Expectations.
    • Practices High Reliability Training.

    Patient/Family Relations:

    • Responds to the uniqueness of the patient, creating a supportive environment for the patient and the family.

    Equipment:

    • Identifies and reports equipment malfunctions.

    Operations:

    • Assists in organizing and maintaining daily operations of section.

    General:

    • Participates in departmental and hospital meetings.
    • Completes all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
    • Complies with ETU.
    • Complies with HIPAA regulations.
    • Practices the 6 core values of the Hospital; excellence, innovation, communication, respect, teamwork, and accountability.

    Professional Development:

    • Furthers professional education and maintains knowledge of current regulations and standards, policies, and procedures.
    • Maintains up-to-date licensure/certification/registration in departmental file.

    Requirements:

    • RT/CT Massachusetts State License.
    • Advanced CT Massachusetts State License is required within 12 months of hire date for CT trainees.
    • RT/CT registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT).
    • Must meet, successfully complete, and maintain the ARRT certification.
    • BLS certification.
    • Associate's degree in Allied Health.
    • 1 year of experience working as a Radiologic Technologist.
