CT Technologist - Per Diem
Location: Boston Children's Hospital and satellite clinics in Lexington, North Dartmouth, Peabody, Waltham, and Weymouth
Job Description:
- Performs routine imaging examinations in CT on a scheduled and emergency basis.
- Reviews and evaluates requisitions for CT imaging procedures, abstracting data from patient charts and determining appropriateness of procedure prescribed given diagnosis and clinical signs for CT examinations.
- Identifies patients according to Hospital Policy with 2 identifiers.
- Performs basic imaging analysis (e.g., 3D).
- Selects appropriate equipment and technical factors to identify pathologic and normal anatomy.
- Assesses patients' and parents' physical and emotional status and ability to respond to instructions and develops plan for adjusting to patients' specific needs.
- Explains the examination and is able to answer questions from patient and parents regarding the exam and radiation exposure, practicing ALARA.
- Consistently provides exceptional care and exceptional service.
- Follows Departmental QC/Exam Data Integrity Workflow Expectations.
- Practices High Reliability Training.
Patient/Family Relations:
- Responds to the uniqueness of the patient, creating a supportive environment for the patient and the family.
Equipment:
- Identifies and reports equipment malfunctions.
Operations:
- Assists in organizing and maintaining daily operations of the section.
General Responsibilities:
- Participates in departmental and hospital meetings.
- Completes all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Complies with ETU.
- Complies with HIPAA regulations.

Professional Development:
- Furthers professional education and maintains knowledge of current regulations and standards, policies, and procedures.
- Maintains up-to-date licensure/certification/registration in the departmental file.
Requirements:
- RT/CT Massachusetts State License.
- Advanced CT Massachusetts State License is required within 12 months of hire date for CT trainees.
- RT/CT registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT).
- Must meet, successfully complete, and maintain the ARRT certification.
- BLS certification.
- Associate's degree in Allied Health.
- 1 year of experience working as a Radiologic Technologist.
