    Radiographer

    The per diem Radiographer will be responsible for various diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.

    Job Description

    • Review and evaluate requisitions for diagnostic imaging procedures, abstracting data from patient charts and determining the appropriateness of prescribed procedures given diagnosis and clinical signs for routine examinations.
    • Identify patients according to hospital policy with two identifiers.
    • Select appropriate equipment and technical factors to identify pathologic and normal anatomy.
    • Assess patients' and parents' physical and emotional status and ability to respond to instructions, developing a care plan for each patient's specific needs.
    • Explain the examination and answer questions from patients and parents regarding the exam and radiation exposure, practicing ALARA.
    • Follow departmental QC/Data Integrity Workflow.
    • Practice High Reliability Training.
    • Respond to the uniqueness of the patient, creating a supportive environment for the patient and family.
    • Identify and report equipment malfunctions through the INeedit application.
    • Assist in organizing and maintaining daily operations.
    • Participate in departmental and hospital meetings.
    • Complete all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
    • Comply with ETU and HIPAA regulations.
    • Practice the six core values of the hospital: excellence, innovation, communication, respect, teamwork, and accountability.
    • Further professional education and maintain knowledge of current regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.
    • Maintain up-to-date licensure/certification/registration in departmental file.

    Requirements

    • An Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology is required.
    • MA Radiographer license and ARRT certification is required.
    • The analytical skills to resolve complex problems requiring the use of scientific, mathematical, or technical principles and in-depth, experience-based knowledge.
    • The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations.
