Senior Radiologic Technologist

Job Description
- Perform complex imaging examinations while ensuring a safe environment for patients.
- Review and evaluate requisitions for diagnostic imaging procedures, abstracting data from patient charts to determine the appropriateness of prescribed procedures.
- Identify patients according to hospital policy using two identifiers.
- Select appropriate equipment and technical factors to identify pathologic and normal anatomy.
- Assess patients' and parents' physical and emotional status, developing care plans tailored to specific needs.
- Explain examinations and answer questions from patients and parents regarding the exam and radiation exposure, practicing ALARA principles.
- Follow departmental quality control/data integrity workflows.
- Practice high reliability training and respond to the uniqueness of each patient, creating a supportive environment for patients and families.
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions through the INeedit application.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining daily operations, including ordering supplies and participating in QA/QC projects.
- Help with new departmental/hospital initiatives and promote positive morale and teamwork.
- Train fellows, residents, students, and staff in imaging procedures and techniques, acting as a mentor to less experienced staff.
- Participate in departmental and hospital meetings, completing all required documentation accurately and timely.
- Comply with ETU and HIPAA regulations while practicing the six core values of the hospital: excellence, innovation, communication, respect, teamwork, and accountability.
- Further professional education and maintain knowledge of current regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain up-to-date licensure/certification/registration in departmental files.
Requirements
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT).
- Must meet, successfully complete, and maintain ARRT certification.
- Registered in all modalities practiced.
- BLS certification.
- Associate's degree.
- Three years of experience.
- Current MA Radiologic Technologist license required for General Radiography, CT, and MRI.
