    Senior Radiologic Technologist

    Job Description

    • Perform complex imaging examinations while ensuring a safe environment for patients.
    • Review and evaluate requisitions for diagnostic imaging procedures, abstracting data from patient charts to determine the appropriateness of prescribed procedures.
    • Identify patients according to hospital policy using two identifiers.
    • Select appropriate equipment and technical factors to identify pathologic and normal anatomy.
    • Assess patients' and parents' physical and emotional status, developing care plans tailored to specific needs.
    • Explain examinations and answer questions from patients and parents regarding the exam and radiation exposure, practicing ALARA principles.
    • Follow departmental quality control/data integrity workflows.
    • Practice high reliability training and respond to the uniqueness of each patient, creating a supportive environment for patients and families.
    • Identify and report equipment malfunctions through the INeedit application.
    • Assist in organizing and maintaining daily operations, including ordering supplies and participating in QA/QC projects.
    • Help with new departmental/hospital initiatives and promote positive morale and teamwork.
    • Train fellows, residents, students, and staff in imaging procedures and techniques, acting as a mentor to less experienced staff.
    • Participate in departmental and hospital meetings, completing all required documentation accurately and timely.
    • Comply with ETU and HIPAA regulations while practicing the six core values of the hospital: excellence, innovation, communication, respect, teamwork, and accountability.
    • Further professional education and maintain knowledge of current regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.
    • Maintain up-to-date licensure/certification/registration in departmental files.

    Requirements

    • Registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT).
    • Must meet, successfully complete, and maintain ARRT certification.
    • Registered in all modalities practiced.
    • BLS certification.
    • Associate's degree.
    • Three years of experience.
    • Current MA Radiologic Technologist license required for General Radiography, CT, and MRI.
