Certified Surgical Technician

Join our team in the Menino Operating Room, where you will play a vital role in providing patient care during surgical procedures. This position offers a structured schedule of 40 hours, including day/night shifts, every third weekend, and requires on-call availability.

Job Description

• Provide patient care during surgical procedures by maintaining an aseptic and safe environment.
• Prepare and sterilize operating rooms.
• Transport patients and pass instruments during surgery.
• Assist surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other staff during surgical procedures.
• Utilize technical and aseptic techniques to ensure compliance with established sterile standards and procedures.

Requirements

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be a graduate of an accredited/approved program in surgical technology or have completed an Armed Forces medic or corpsmen program.
• Surgical Technician certification required (unless employed as a surgical technologist in a surgical facility on or before July 1, 2013).
• Previous surgical tech experience preferred.
• Ability to effectively speak, read, and write in English.
• Ability to accurately interpret and use medical terminology and abbreviations.
• Computer proficiency to access and enter computerized data/information.
• Effective interpersonal skills to interact appropriately with patients, families, physicians, and other hospital staff.
• Organizational skills to effectively set priorities and efficiently complete assigned work.
