Job Description

• Operate MRI scanners and ensure quality images for accurate diagnosis.
• Interact directly with patients to ensure they are safely screened, comfortable, and calm.
• Interview patients, explain procedures, place IVs when necessary, and position patients in the scanner.
• Prepare patients for exams ensuring their safety while protecting their rights.
• Perform MRI exams in accordance with established protocols ensuring diagnostic quality.
• Interact collaboratively with all departments and units to coordinate patient care.
• Recognize adverse reactions and contraindications and act appropriately.
• Follow established hospital infection control and safety procedures and use AIDET communication framework.
• Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam at all times, addressing patient concerns in an informative and reassuring manner.
• Capture images and transfer them to PACS systems and physician workstations.
• Document procedures properly in EPIC, verifying proper demographics and patient histories.
• Participate in documentation of all quality control and safety logs.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of all work areas and equipment.

Requirements

• BLS/CPR certified.
• Current ARRT certification and registration in MRI.
• Fluency in multiple-vendor software is a plus.
• Knowledgeable about the risks of MRI and the ability to effectively communicate those risks.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent technical skills.
• One to four years of work experience preferred.
