Job Description:
- Join practice as a primary care provider and APP Trainer
- Work in a hybrid role including training newly hired Advanced Practice Providers and providing medical services for patients
- Member of the clinical practice team, working collaboratively with other team members in providing patient care
- Full-time role including 20 hours of direct patient care and 20 hours of APP support, training, education, and professional development
Training Responsibilities:
- Supervise, train, and evaluate new Advanced Practice Providers (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant)
- Perform chart reviews based on an established schedule
- Coordinate MAVEN services
- Coordinate CME educational sessions with site medical directors
- Meet with APP assigned MAVEN mentor after new APP's 3rd month of employment
- Observe and shadow APP
- Evaluate APP based on competencies such as history taking, physical exam skills, analyzing data, management/plan formation, procedures, problem solving hazards and biases, medical practice and principles
- Provide constructive feedback to APP for the course of two years and possibly longer
- Support organizational compliance and training requirements
- Participate in Administrative Projects as assigned by the Medical Director
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Provide direct medical care for four sessions per week
- Complete clinical administrative work four hours per week
- Adhere to established protocols, respond to medical emergencies within the facility assigned
- Assist/instruct other health care employees in the management of client care
- Make referrals to health care professionals, specialists, other clinics, and community agencies
