    Job Description:

    • Seeking a full-time (4.0 or 4.5 days/week) general surgeon to join a team of part-time and per diem general surgeons.
    • Offers a broad scope of practice typical for a rural community.
    • Provides office-based general surgery services to new and established patients of all ages.
    • Includes initial consultation for common general surgery concerns, performance of minor procedures, education and counseling of patients and families.
    • Orders diagnostic tests, referral to related other specialties within and at tertiary care centers, and communication with PCPs.
    • Clinical support is provided by a medical assistant.

    Common Diagnoses:

    • Hernias (inguinal and umbilical)

    • GERD and related symptoms

    • Rectal bleeding

    • Gallbladder disease

    • Colon polyps or screening for colon cancer

    • Hemorrhoids

    • Sebaceous cyst

    • Dysphagia

    • Breast conditions

    • Diverticulitis

    • Skin lesions (including cancers)

    • Provides operative (open and laparoscopic) and endoscopic procedures.
