Job Description

• The occupational therapy assistant performs patient-related activities. Services may include but are not limited to purposeful activities or interventions to maximize the independence and the maintenance of health of any individual who is limited by a physical injury or illness, a cognitive impairment, a psychosocial dysfunction, a mental illness, a developmental or learning disability, or an adverse environmental condition.
• Assisting the occupational therapist when performing tests, evaluation, and complex treatment procedures.
• Observing, recording, and reporting to the therapist the condition, reactions, and responses related to assigned duties.
• Assisting the therapist in consulting with patients, family members, and other health care professionals as appropriate.
• Assisting with the care of the occupational therapy department and equipment.
• Assisting the occupational therapist with in-service programs and other meetings as assigned.

Requirements

• Must have active and unencumbered Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) License in the State of NY.
• Experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility preferred but not required.
• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

Pay Range

$30-$43 per hour (based on experience).
