    Activities Coordinator I

    Join our dynamic team at CHA Malden Care Center, where we serve adults 55 years and older with chronic medical and/or mental health difficulties. Our high-functioning interdisciplinary team works to fully integrate and coordinate medical and behavioral health care, community resources, and in-home support services.

    Job Description

    • Design, plan, and implement daily activity programs that meet the diverse needs of older adult participants
    • Lead therapeutic group activities to support participants' physical, cognitive, social, and emotional wellness
    • Orient new participants to the activity program
    • Assist in developing and coordinating field trips for program participants
    • Collaborate with Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) on day center operations including beverage service, meal assistance, and transportation as needed
    • Manage participant behavioral issues and conflicts calmly and professionally
    • Maintain timely completion of monthly activity calendars and supply orders

    Requirements

    • High school diploma or equivalent required; BA or BS in related field desirable
    • Fluency in Spanish, Portuguese, and/or Haitian Creole highly desirable
    • At least one year of experience working with frail elders in a social/medical setting
    • Experience developing and running therapeutic activities
    • Activity Director Certification from the National Council of Activity Professionals required within 6 months of hire
