Registered Nurse - Med/Surg

Join our team as a Registered Nurse in the Med/Surg department at Carilion Rockbridge Community Hospital (CRBH) in Lexington, VA. This full-time position offers evening/night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM, with every other weekend requirement and rotating holidays. A $15K sign-on bonus is available for experienced RNs and $10K for new graduate RNs.

Job Description

• Deliver the best in care and customer service while demonstrating respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in each encounter with patients, families, visitors, and colleagues.
• Assume primary accountability for nursing coordination and provision of individualized care for patients of all ages.
• Utilize delegation and critical thinking skills to provide quality service through a team-oriented, collaborative approach to patient care.
• Complete age-specific admission and ongoing assessments, documenting them to develop a plan of care.
• Collaborate with members of the healthcare team, patients, and families to develop, implement, and evaluate an age-specific interdisciplinary plan of care, revising it according to changes in patient status.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care to achieve optimum patient outcomes for patients of all ages as appropriate to the service area.
• Accurately administer and document treatments and medications for patients of all ages using automated computer systems, including electronic medical records.

Requirements

• Education: Graduate of a school of professional nursing from an accredited college or graduate of an approved program eligible to sit for the Virginia licensure exam.
• Licensure/Certification: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Virginia or eligible to obtain Virginia RN licensure. Obtain CPR certification and, as needed, ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications.
• Other: Computer skills required for electronic medical record (EPIC). Successfully complete orientation and competency requirements. Meet essential job functions.
