    LPN/RN Hall Nurse

    Join our team as an LPN/RN Hall Nurse, providing essential nursing care to residents assigned in a supportive and collaborative environment.

    Job Description

    • Provides nursing care to residents assigned.
    • Participates in planning and implementing unit activities on the shift as assigned by the Director of Nursing (DON) and/or RN Supervisor.
    • Ensures that department personnel, residents, visitors, etc., follow established policies and procedures, including safety rules and regulations.
    • Provides accurate and consistent information to personnel, residents, visitors, family members, etc., as necessary.
    • Maintains confidentiality of pertinent resident care information to assure resident rights are protected.
    • Assures that a stock level of medications, medical supplies, equipment, etc., are maintained at adequate levels.
    • Notifies the resident's attending/alternate physician, RN supervisor, and the resident's legal guardian representative when the resident becomes critically ill or injured.
    • Works with the facility's consultants as necessary and implements recommended changes as directed by the DON.
    • Makes oral reports/recommendations for interventions for nursing plans of care to the supervising RN/DON concerning the delivery of resident care.
    • Monitors residents throughout the assigned shift to assure that prescribed treatment is being properly administered.
    • Prepares/administers medications as ordered by the physician and according to agency policy.
    • Charts nurses' notes in an informative and descriptive manner that reflects pertinent information and the care provided.
    • Assists in orientation of newly assigned unlicensed personnel to facility-specific nursing procedures.

    Requirements

    • Must be a graduate of an approved LPN/RN program.
    • Training in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices is preferred.
    • Must have training in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or other related medical facility.
    • Current CPR Certification.
    • Must function independently within the scope of practice for LPN, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies.
    • Must meet state requirements for relevant licensures or certifications and have no disciplinary action in effect against professional license.

    • Must be a supportive team member and contribute to teamwork.
    • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
    • Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the public.
    • Must have patience, tact, and willingness to deal with difficult residents, family, and staff.

    • Establishes a culture of compliance by adhering to all facility policies and procedures.
    • Follows appropriate safety and hygiene measures at all times to protect residents and themselves.
    • Reports any allegations of abuse, neglect, misappropriation of property, exploitation, or mistreatment of residents to supervisor and/or administrator.

    Working Conditions

    • Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday.
    • Meets general health requirements according to facility policy, including medical and physical exams and checking immunity status to various infectious diseases.
    • Ability to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary.
