Registered Nurse / Licensed Practical Nurse

We are hiring RNs and LPNs to join our inpatient services in the following areas:

• Inpatient Complex Medical Care program, which provides 24-hour skilled nursing care in a family-focused environment. We care for children, teens, and young adults who are unable to live at home due to their complex medical needs.

• Pediatric Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit, the only freestanding, comprehensive pediatric inpatient rehabilitation program for children and young adults in the state of Iowa.

Job Description

• Within the nursing scope of practice, physician's orders, and the care plan, make decisions and deliver a full range of nursing care based on the fundamentals of the nursing process.
• Maintain accurate, completed, and timely records as defined by nursing standards of practice and ChildServe policies and procedures.
• Communicate effectively, respectfully, and professionally with residents, physicians, families, school personnel, ChildServe staff, and others to assure assigned child's care needs are assessed, communicated, and met.
• Provide training to patients, families, and staff as needed to help advance the skills and knowledge of all people associated with a child's care delivery.
• Demonstrate good stewardship of ChildServe equipment, supplies, and environment.

Requirements

• Current valid license as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in Iowa.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, be mobile within the clinic areas, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand.
• Ability to communicate effectively in (or through) reading, writing, and speaking the English language.

Benefits

• Wage: RN $28-37/hr; LPN $25-29/hr.
• Shift differentials: $1/hr 2-6pm; $3.50/hr 6-10pm; $5/hr 10pm-6am.
• Depending on hours worked, positions are eligible for health benefits, including medical/dental/vision insurance, paid time off, and a 403b retirement account with company match. As a nonprofit, we are part of the public service loan forgiveness program.

Work Schedule

• Options for PRN, part-time, or full-time employment in all areas.
• Day, nights, rotating shifts, and float pool are available.
• PRN: requires 2 shifts in a 6-week scheduling period.
• Part-time: 2 12-hour shifts.
• Full-time: 3 12-hour shifts.
• Most available shifts are 12 hours 6a-6p or 6p-6a but may vary depending on schedule needs.
