Job Description

• Work 36 hours per week on the night shift for our Surgical Specialty unit. Typical shift is 7 PM - 7 AM with weekends and holidays, per the guidelines of the department.
• Utilize the nursing process to deliver safe, context-dependent patient and family-centered care in accordance with the American Nurses Association Scope and Standards of Practice.
• Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health and/or the situation (Assessment).
• Analyze the assessment data to determine the nursing diagnoses or the relevant issues (Diagnosis).
• Identify expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or the situation (Outcomes Identification).
• Develop a plan that prescribes strategies and alternatives to attain the expected outcomes (Planning).
• Implement the identified plan of care and coordinate care delivery (Implementation).
• Safely administer medication and other treatments as ordered by providers.
• Provide or delegate nursing interventions in response to the patient's medical and nursing diagnoses.
• Demonstrate sensitivity to the patient and family's emotional, spiritual, and cultural needs.
• Employ strategies to promote health and ensure a safe environment (Health Teaching and Health Promotion).
• Evaluate progress toward the attainment of outcomes and revise the plan of care accordingly (Evaluation).
• Practice ethically.
• Attain knowledge and competence that reflects current nursing practice.
• Integrate evidence and research findings into practice.
• Contribute to quality nursing practice.
• Communicate effectively in all areas of practice.

Requirements

• BSN preferred.
• Commitment to acquiring BSN within three years of date of hire can be considered with relevant experience.
• At least one year of med/surg experience as a RN.
• BLS required.

Hourly Pay Range: $41.28 - $66.05

This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting.
