Cardiovascular Technologist I (CVT I)

Job Description:
- Responsible for professional patient care and assisting Cardiologists, Vascular Surgeons, and Radiologists in cardiac diagnostic, cardiac interventional, and invasive radiology procedures.
- Utilizes the patient care process to ensure safe and competent quality patient care.
- Assists in all procedures performed in the invasive cardiology area.
- Supports the medical care of all patients requiring cardiac or peripheral catheterization and/or intervention.
Facility Overview:
CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - New Braunfels (CSRH-NB), located in downtown New Braunfels, is a full-service facility with 94 private beds. The hospital features innovative equipment and procedures, including an Outpatient Imaging Center, orthopedic and surgical services, rehabilitation, a renovated birthing center with 24/7 neonatal coverage, emergency care, a wound care/hyperbaric center, 3D mammography, and comprehensive heart care services.
Requirements:
Education:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Graduate of an approved School of Radiological Sciences or a degree in Allied Health Science or an accredited Cardiovascular Technologist Associate degree program.
Experience:
- One (1) to three (3) years of experience in Cardiac Catheterization procedures preferred.
- Experience in a hospital setting as a Radiology Technologist or Cardiovascular Technologist preferred.
- Basic knowledge of Cardiac Anatomy and EKG rhythms required.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:
- Medical Radiologist Technologist (MRT) through Texas Medical Board (TMB) and American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) required for Radiological Technologist program graduates.
- BLS for Healthcare Worker required.
- ACLS certification required within 90 days of employment.
- PALS certification required within 90 days of employment if caring for pediatric patients.
