Radiologic Technologist

Job Description:

• Operates radiologic equipment to make clinical diagnostic images as directed by physicians.
• Performs routine diagnostic procedures and may be required to function as a Medical Assistant as needed.
• Positions patients and adjusts equipment for taking radiographic images following established procedures.
• Observes patient's vital signs during examination.
• Follows prescribed safety standards in operating radiologic equipment.
• Maintains accurate radiology records and logs all procedures completed.
• Operates radiologic equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.
• Adjusts controls to set exposure factors according to specification of examination.
• Maintains examination rooms and stocks necessary medical and radiologic supplies.
• Cleans and makes minor adjustments to radiologic equipment.
• Participates in training employees in equipment operation, patient movement, and quality assurance.
• Enhances professional growth through education programs, conferences, and workshops.
• Maintains confidentiality and follows HIPAA guidelines.
• Supports and adheres to CPG Service Guarantee.

Requirements:

• Graduate of AMA approved School of Radiological Sciences or other accepted and approved equivalent required.
• One year of experience as a radiologic technologist preferred.
• Current state licensure and certification (ARRT) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required.
• Current BLS (American Heart Association) required.
