MRI Technologist

Job Description:

• Perform complex and specialized MRI procedures independently
• Utilize a wide variety of imaging equipment and computers
• Conduct basic MRI screening of patients and employees
• Prepare for maintenance and repairs, and participate in quality assurance
• Resolve issues related to MRI safety
• Participate in ongoing MR education, safety, protocol development, and technical advancements

Responsibilities:

• Meet expectations of OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders
• Conduct diagnostic procedures, including complex ones, using state-of-the-art MRI equipment
• Demonstrate competency in MRI exams, procedures, and the use of pressurized injection equipment
• Assist Radiologist in invasive and biopsy procedures using MRI equipment
• Ensure all scan data is correctly stored on PACS for future reference
• Coordinate and prioritize procedures to maintain patient care and continuity
• Ensure all charges are correctly coded and entered in the billing system
• Demonstrate competence with all age-specific groups for proper study completion
• Adapt patient assessment, treatment, and care methods to meet unique needs
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and standards
• Protect patient confidentiality and disclose confidential information only when necessary
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Graduate of AMA approved School of Radiological Sciences or equivalent
• 1 year of experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred
• 3 years of experience in a clinical imaging setting highly preferred
• Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) certification from ARRT or ARMRIT preferred
• Current state licensure required
• Current BLS (American Heart Association) required
