MRI Technologist
Job Description:
- Perform complex and specialized MRI procedures independently
- Utilize a wide variety of imaging equipment and computers
- Conduct basic MRI screening of patients and employees
- Prepare for maintenance and repairs, and participate in quality assurance
- Resolve issues related to MRI safety
- Participate in ongoing MR education, safety, protocol development, and technical advancements
Responsibilities:
- Meet expectations of OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders
- Conduct diagnostic procedures, including complex ones, using state-of-the-art MRI equipment
- Demonstrate competency in MRI exams, procedures, and the use of pressurized injection equipment
- Assist Radiologist in invasive and biopsy procedures using MRI equipment
- Ensure all scan data is correctly stored on PACS for future reference
- Coordinate and prioritize procedures to maintain patient care and continuity
- Ensure all charges are correctly coded and entered in the billing system
- Demonstrate competence with all age-specific groups for proper study completion
- Adapt patient assessment, treatment, and care methods to meet unique needs
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and standards
- Protect patient confidentiality and disclose confidential information only when necessary
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Graduate of AMA approved School of Radiological Sciences or equivalent
- 1 year of experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred
- 3 years of experience in a clinical imaging setting highly preferred
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) certification from ARRT or ARMRIT preferred
- Current state licensure required
- Current BLS (American Heart Association) required
