Certified Medical Assistant

Job Description:

• Perform various services and related activities in support of patient care
• Accurate data entry for patient registration and insurance verification
• Communicate effectively with all patients, families, licensed personnel, insurance companies, and third-party payers
• Demonstrate a professional and caring manner

Responsibilities:

• Meet expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders
• Assist physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants in providing superior medical care
• Accurately enter data of charges on patient accounts, register patients, and update patient accounts
• Verify insurance and record statistics
• Schedule patient appointments, answer phones, keep providers informed of changes, and inform patients of their benefits
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred
• 1 year of medical office experience preferred
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification in the state of employment is required
• BLS required

Work Schedule:

• 5 Days - 8 Hours
