Medical Massage Therapist

Job Description:

• Provide medical massage as part of the CSVRMC Holistic Health & Wellness team.
• Deliver appropriate, ethical, competent, and evidence-based massage therapy services.
• Develop and promote wellness opportunities for patients and CSV employees.
• Collaborate with other departments across the health system.
• Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings at Holistic Health & Wellness.

Requirements:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Completion of a Nationally Certified Massage Program with at least 850 hours of hands-on training.

• Certification/Licenses: Licensed as a Massage Therapist in the State of New Mexico.

• Skills:

  • Proficient in multiple massage techniques (Medical, Deep Tissue, Swedish Massage, neuromuscular, reflexology).
  • Ability to tailor treatments for various medical conditions and comorbidities.
  • Specialized training in oncology massage preferred.
  • Effective communication and physical assessment skills.
  • Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary medical team.
  • English literacy required.

• Experience: One year of full-time massage experience required, with clinical experience in medical massage preferred.

Environment:

• Knowledge and practice of safety standards regarding massage therapy and communicable diseases are required.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit, stand, stoop, and walk for at least an eight-hour shift.
• May require heavy lifting (greater than 75 lbs.).
• Good manual dexterity and ability to provide massage therapy for treatments ranging from half an hour to one and a half hours.
