    Job Description:

    • Meets the minimum CLIA qualifications of a Laboratory General Supervisor.
    • Coordinates and manages day-to-day operations of specific sections and shifts.
    • Serves in an administrative role with direct reports.
    • Develops and implements new procedures, instrumentation, quality control, and reagent use.
    • Responsible for development and maintenance of policies and procedures meeting regulatory standards.
    • Ensures personnel accountability through performance reviews.
    • Assists in orientation and development of personnel competencies.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provides day-to-day supervision of high, moderate, and waived complexity test performance.
    • Accessible for technical problem consultation via on-site, telephone, or electronic means.
    • Ensures compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and standards.
    • Plans, organizes, and coordinates work activities of assigned sections and shifts.
    • Maintains accurate attendance records and time management for department associates.
    • Assists in maintaining the laboratory budget and reporting on expense details.
    • Develops and updates procedural manuals regularly.
    • Enforces safety policies and procedures.
    • Researches and implements new procedures and instrumentation.
    • Maintains Quality Control Program and relevant records.
    • Monitors test analyses to ensure acceptable performance levels.

    • Prepares and submits technical reports.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant science or equivalent education.
    • Five years of experience as a Medical Technologist or equivalent.
    • Five years of primary experience in the specific section of responsibility.
    • Certification or eligibility for relevant laboratory certifications.
