MRI Technologist
Location: San Marcos, Texas
Job Description:
- Work independently, performing complex and specialized MRI procedures
- Utilize a wide variety of imaging equipment and computers
- Provide basic MRI screening of patients and employees
- Prepare maintenance and repairs, participate in QA, and resolve issues related to MRI safety
- Make quick and highly technical decisions to accommodate physical restrictions and pathology
- Participate in ongoing MR education, safety, protocol development, quality assurance, and technical advances
Responsibilities:
- Meet expectations of OneCHRISTUS Competencies
- Perform a variety of diagnostic procedures, including complex MRI exams
- Assist Radiologist in invasive and biopsy procedures using MRI equipment
- Ensure exam data is correctly stored on PACS
- Coordinate and prioritize procedures to maintain patient care and continuity
- Ensure all charges are correctly coded and entered in the billing system
- Adapt patient assessment and care methods to meet unique needs
- Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and standards
- Protect patient confidentiality
- Demonstrate adherence to the Core values of Christus Health
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or equivalent
- ARRT, RT (R), or other qualified Registries per scope of practice
- Registered or Registry-eligible in secondary modality
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred
- Three (3) years' experience in a clinical imaging setting highly preferred
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT)
- Current state licensure required
- Current BLS (American Heart Association) required
