Neonatal Physical Therapist
A Neonatal Physical Therapist delivers evidence-based holistic direct patient care and consultative services to infants in the NICU. Using an integrated, neuroprotective, family-centered model, NPTs provide highly specialized and individualized services in the NICU. These services support optimal long-term development, prevent or mitigate iatrogenic problems and adverse sequelae, and nurture the infant-family dyad. NPTs are an essential part of the NICU team.
Job Description
- Evaluates and provides direct patient care for babies in the NICU with neurological, musculoskeletal, genetic, neuromuscular, respiratory, pain disorders, along with developmental and traumatic injuries and those at risk for developmental delay secondary to severe prematurity.
- Provides consultation and programming including patient and caregiver education.
- Oversees developmental care of all babies in the NICU, staff and family education/training, documentation, participation in weekly NICU rounds, engaging in various committees to support neuroprotective and developmentally supportive care, and computer input of all charges.
- Delivers care with a team orientation, an emphasis on family-centered care, sound clinical judgment, and appropriate decision-making abilities that take into consideration evidence-based practice.
Requirements
- LPT License in state of employment
- BLS
Preferred Qualifications
- Inpatient/Acute Pediatric or Neonate experience
- Experience with medically-complex pediatric patients in other settings
Work Type

- 32-40 hours per week
