    Radiologic Technologist

    Job Description:

    • Operates radiologic equipment to make clinical diagnostic images as directed by physicians.
    • Performs routine diagnostic procedures and may function as a Medical Assistant as needed.
    • Positions patients and adjusts equipment for radiographic images following established procedures.
    • Instructs patients regarding procedures and observes vital signs during examination.
    • Follows safety standards in operating radiologic equipment and maintains accurate radiology records.
    • Operates radiologic equipment and adjusts controls to set exposure factors.
    • Maintains examination rooms and stocks necessary medical and radiologic supplies.
    • Cleans and makes minor adjustments to radiologic equipment and schedules routine maintenance.
    • Develops and monitors a QI program and ensures department compliance with OSHA.
    • Participates in training employees and attends required meetings.
    • Enhances professional growth through education programs, conferences, and workshops.
    • Follows guidelines related to HIPAA and maintains strict confidentiality.
    • Uses oral and written communication skills consistent with the CHRISTUS Mission.
    • Maintains policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control.

    Job Requirements:

    • Education/Skills: Graduate of AMA approved School of Radiological Sciences or other accepted and approved equivalent required.
    • Experience: One year of experience as a radiologic technologist preferred.
    • Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications: Current state licensure and certification (ARRT) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required. BLS required.
