Hematologist / Oncologist
Join our dynamic team as a Hematologist / Oncologist dedicated to serving the medically-underserved Asian community in New York City. This position offers a full-time schedule with no on-call requirements, allowing for a balanced work-life environment.
Job Description
- Diagnose solid tumor and hematologic conditions
- Determine treatment plans using various diagnostic techniques (biopsies, imaging, etc.)
- Design individualized treatment plans, including chemotherapy and immunotherapy
- Reassess disease progress as treatment progresses
- Pursue alternative therapies as needed, as well as palliative care when appropriate
- Collaborate with surgeons, pathologists, and other specialists for comprehensive cancer care
- Educate patients and families about treatments, side effects, and post-treatment care
- Conduct follow-ups to assess treatment efficacy and manage side effects
- Participate in case reviews, clinical trials, and continuous education
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and maintain detailed patient records
The hematologist / oncologist will see a variable number of patients per day, depending upon the types of appointments scheduled. The physician will be supported by dedicated clinical assistants. The practice uses the MDLand EHR. The physician will work with a majority Chinese-speaking patient population and must be fluent in Mandarin and/or Cantonese.
Requirements
- New York medical license
- DEA
- Board Certified or Eligible, Hematology/Oncology
- Must speak Cantonese or Mandarin
Compensation and Benefits
- $310,000 to $390,000, dependent upon experience and productivity
