Job Description
- Provide general nursing care to patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse and in accordance with physician's orders and established standards and protocols.
- Implement orders for medications and treatments as ordered by the physician and in accordance with the nursing care plan as written by the Registered Nurse.
- Participate in the evaluation of the effectiveness of interventions in relation to patient responses and seek guidance in redirection when necessary.
- Assist in identifying patient's learning needs and reinforce self-care and other techniques.
- Report to supervisor on patient care rendered, problems concerning patients' needs, and resolution to those needs.
- Help identify patient problems and potential risks and contribute to the development of interventions.
- Provide an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and staff. Assess risks for safety and implement appropriate precautions. Comply with appropriate and approved safety and infection prevention standards.
Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in an inpatient hospital setting; inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred.
- Current state license as a Licensed Practical Nurse required.
- Current CPR certification required.
