Job Description

• Provide general nursing care to patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse and in accordance with physician's orders and established standards and protocols.
• Implement orders for medications and treatments as ordered by the physician and in accordance with the nursing care plan as written by the Registered Nurse.
• Participate in the evaluation of the effectiveness of interventions in relation to patient responses and seek guidance in redirection when necessary.
• Assist in identifying patient's learning needs and reinforce self-care and other techniques.
• Report to supervisor on patient care rendered, problems concerning patients' needs, and resolution to those needs.
• Help identify patient problems and potential risks and contribute to the development of interventions.
• Provide an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and staff. Assess risks for safety and implement appropriate precautions. Comply with appropriate and approved safety and infection prevention standards.

Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years' experience in an inpatient hospital setting; inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred.
• Current state license as a Licensed Practical Nurse required.
• Current CPR certification required.
