Direct Care Worker

Location: North Central Mississippi

Communicare is a community mental health center serving Calhoun, Lafayette, Marshall, Panola, Tate, and Yalobusha counties. It offers specialized treatment for adults with serious mental illness, children with serious emotional disturbances, individuals with substance abuse disorders, and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Job Description:

• Provide direct care for individuals designated as ID/DD in the supervised living program.
• Assist in the acquisition, retention, or improvement of social self-help, socialization, and adaptive skills.
• Facilitate meaningful day activities to build positive social behavior, interpersonal competence, and personal choice.
• Engage in community integration activities.
• Monitor and supervise individuals at all times during service provision.
• Participate as a member of the Communicare Treatment Team.
• Transport clients to various activities and appointments.
• Perform duties under the supervision of the Supervised Living Supervisor.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to perform the listed job responsibilities.
• CPI certification or ability to complete CPI training.
• Ability to relate positively to individuals and their families.
• Must maintain a valid driver's license, automobile insurance, and an insurable driving record.
