    Occupational Therapist Specialist

    Job Description

    • Conduct occupational therapy assessments and develop and monitor treatment plans.
    • Provide direct treatment and consultation to individuals, families, and staff.
    • Evaluate, treat, and develop programs for children and adults with developmental disabilities.
    • Work efficiently and independently while providing direct services as necessary.
    • Participate in person-centered planning meetings and maintain records on each person's progress.
    • Carry out all activities of the program/sub-unit in alignment with CMHA-CEI's mission, policies, and procedures.

    Requirements

    • Possession of a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited college or university.
    • Possession of an appropriate State of Michigan credential.
    • Current registration with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy and licensure in the State of Michigan as an Occupational Therapist.
    • One year of professional work experience with persons with developmental disabilities.
    • Ability to communicate accurately and effectively both in writing and verbally.
    • Possession of a valid Michigan driver's license and access to reliable transportation for job-related use.

    Conditional Employment Requirements

    • Employment offers are contingent upon background verification and credentialing procedures, including Michigan State Police clearance check, verification of a professional license, Medicaid/Medicare verification, verification of an acceptable driving record, educational background check, and verification of an acceptable work history.
    • Must undergo and pass a Central Registry Clearance Check.
    • Must pass a pre-employment 5-panel drug screen.

    Salary/Hours

    • Starting salary: $62,961 - $70,408 annually with scheduled annual increases that can result in a salary of $80,017 per year.
    • 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with occasional weeknights possible.
