Crisis Services Clinician

Join our team in the Adult Mental Health Services/Crisis Services, where you will play a vital role in providing direct and indirect mental health services. This position is based in Lansing, Michigan, and offers a part-time schedule with a focus on supporting individuals with mental illness.

Job Description

• Serve as a doctoral level clinician performing a wide range of mental health services under the supervision of the Crisis Services Coordinator.
• Conduct evaluations for involuntary psychiatric hospitalization and provide consultation services to local area hospital Emergency Physicians.
• Conduct therapy, recommend referrals to various programs, and consult with service providers.
• Responsible for extensive case documentation and assessing challenging behaviors, substance abuse, and emotional trauma.
• Administer and interpret psychological tests, interview and observe consumers, review appropriate records, and develop specific treatment plans using a strength-based model.
• Carry out all activities of the program/sub-unit in accordance with CMHA-CEI's mission, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

• Possession of a Doctorate degree in Psychology is required.
• Must be fully licensed as a Psychologist in the State of Michigan with a minimum of one year of professional experience working with persons with mental illness.
• Ability to communicate accurately and effectively both in writing and verbally is required.
• Must be able to work well with others.

Conditional Employment Requirement

• Employment offers are contingent upon the results of background verification and credentialing procedures, including a Michigan State Police check, Central Registry Screening, verification of professional license, Medicaid/Medicare verification, educational background check, and verification of an acceptable work history.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Salary/Hours

• $47.35 - $52.41 per hour
• 20 hours per week
