    Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - Pediatric Clinic

    We are seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join a pediatric therapy team in South Boston, VA. This is an exciting opportunity for a compassionate and motivated COTA to work in a supportive and collaborative environment, helping children develop essential skills for daily living and independence. Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist (OT), you will assist in providing high-quality therapy services tailored to each child's unique needs.

    Job Description

    • Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist to improve fine motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living activities.
    • Work directly with children in a clinic setting, using engaging and evidence-based techniques to promote independence and skill development.
    • Collaborate with the OT, families, and other therapy team members to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to care.
    • Educate and support parents and caregivers by demonstrating therapy techniques and providing guidance for home-based activities.
    • Document and maintain accurate records of treatment sessions, progress notes, and patient responses in compliance with clinic policies.
    • Stay informed on best practices in pediatric occupational therapy through professional development and training opportunities.
    • Participate in team meetings and case discussions to contribute to the child's overall treatment plan.

    Requirements

    • Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
    • Current COTA licensure in the state of Virginia (or eligibility to obtain licensure).
    • Pediatric experience preferred, but new graduates with a passion for working with children are encouraged to apply.
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
    • Ability to create engaging and fun therapy sessions tailored to each child's needs.
