Cardiothoracic Surgeon

Location: Boise, ID

Job Description:

• Shifts: 7am-7am (24-hour on-call shifts, weekend coverage required)
• On Call Requirements: Yes, daily call and occasional PTO coverage
• Number of Positions: 1
• Rate:
  • On-call: $2,750 per 24-hour shift (includes 3 hours gratis)
  • Call back: $310/hour after gratis hours

Key Responsibilities:

• Cover occasional weekend on-call and PTO for the Cardiothoracic Surgery team.
• Perform adult cardiac and general thoracic surgeries, including:
  • Aortic dissection, CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting)
  • Tube thoracostomy, Pericardial window, Thoracotomy lung resections and pneumonectomy
  • Heart valve repair/replacement surgery, Dissection, VA + VV ECMO placement.
• Work in a Cardiothoracic Surgery dedicated OR with support from 4 rotating Physician Assistants.
• Patient Population: Adult and Geriatric.
• Use Epic for Electronic Medical Records (EMR).

Requirements:

• ACGME or AOA Accredited Residency and Cardiothoracic Fellowship
• Board Certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery
• Active Idaho State License or IMLC
• ACLS and DEA Certification
• Clean background with no malpractice history

Facility Information:

• EMR: Epic
• Operating Room: 1 dedicated Cardiothoracic Surgery OR
• Support: 4 Physician Assistants rotate to assist in the OR

Patient Demographic:

Adult and Geriatric patients requiring advanced cardiac and thoracic procedures
