    Job Description:

    • Performs medical exams using X-rays or other diagnostic imaging examinations on patients to create images of specific parts of the body.
    • Prepares patients for the exams, moves patients to the correct position, operates the equipment, and uses knowledge and skill to minimize radiation dose.
    • Works under direct supervision and commits to weekend option (WEO) requirements, working two shifts within the WEO window for a premium rate.

    Responsibilities:

    • Follows instructions from physicians regarding which area of the patient's body needs imaging.
    • Talks the patient through the procedure and answers questions to lower their anxiety and increase their understanding of the procedure.
    • Positions the patient correctly and adjusts the imaging equipment to the specified position to create quality images.
    • Prevents unnecessary radiation exposure to themselves and to the patient.
    • Follows correct techniques and procedures such as patient shielding to ensure accurate and reliable diagnostic imaging services.
    • Completes required documentation for each procedure to ensure proper patient records and facilitate seamless communication among healthcare providers.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • Education: Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
    • Licensure/Certification/Registry/Listing: Required: ARRT (R); Radiologic Technologist - Dx BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
