    Job Description:

    • Manages invasive/non-invasive ventilators
    • Performs routine therapy modalities
    • Processes blood gases
    • Performs advanced therapy modalities
    • Completes required documentation
    • Monitors and maintains department supply levels/equipment
    • Exhibits Department Engagement
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

    Education:

    • Enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Care Associate Degree program approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care with a minimum 2.0 GPA

    Experience:

    • One year required. Completed 1st year of Respiratory Care Associate Degree Program. Demonstrated competencies verified by the educational institution for the procedures defined in the revised declaratory ruling by the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board.
    • Educational institution must verify competency in the following Respiratory care Procedures:
      • Oxygen therapy systems
      • Equipment processing
      • Manual resuscitation oxygen administration
      • Humidity and aerosol therapy
      • Small volume nebulizer therapy
      • MDI administration
      • Incentive spirometry

    Licensure/Certification/Registry/Listing:

    • Registration as an RCA with the NC Respiratory Care Board
    • BLS required
    • ACLS, PALS, NRP preferred
