    Job Description:

    • Established palliative care team inclusive of 2 physicians and 6 advanced practice providers
    • Provide consults in both inpatient and outpatient settings in person and via a telemedicine service
    • 16-bed Palliative Care Unit
    • Schedule includes a 4-day work week (8 am - 6 pm)
    • Weekend call 1:4
    • Administrative responsibilities will include participation in hospital committees, meetings, and projects that require palliative care expertise
    • Interdisciplinary care team approach
    • Ability to live only an hour away from the beautiful beaches of the North Carolina coast

    Clinical Responsibilities:

    • Complete patient admission and discharges
    • Perform daily clinical rounds on inpatient units
    • Develop and update patient plans of care
    • Provide clinical support and consultation for the Advanced Practice Provider team, palliative care unit, and field staff
    • Direct/participate in family conferences and interdisciplinary team meetings
    • Participate in agency quality improvement and patient/family experience activities
    • Teach and supervise fellows, residents, and medical students
    • Provide care in the outpatient palliative care clinic
