Join our team at the Prosper Medical Office Building in the Ear Nose Throat Clinic. This position offers the opportunity to work first shift, providing essential services to pediatric patients.
Job Description
- Provide in-patient and/or out-patient audiology services, focusing on diagnosing hearing loss for all pediatric ages.
- Collaborate closely with children, their families, speech pathologists, school personnel, specialists, and physicians to recommend and implement plans that enhance functional hearing to facilitate learning and development.
- Specialize in serving children who have been unable to complete routine audiology testing in traditional settings.
- Deliver a range of audiology services including behavioral audiometry, auditory brainstem response, otoacoustic emissions, infant newborn hearing screenings, evaluation and selection of hearing aids (including dispensing, testing, and repairs), FM systems, other assistive listening devices, custom ear plugs for swimming and noise protection, and cochlear implants.
- Provide patient and caregiver education and consultation to other professionals, clinics, and agencies within Cook Children's Health Care System and the community.
- Ensure documentation and correspondence pertaining to these services follow department and system policies.
Requirements
- Clinical Doctorate degree in Audiology or PhD in Audiology.
- Pediatric experience preferred.
- CPR certification.
- State license for Audiology.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in audiology (ASHA) or Board Certified in Audiology (ABA) or eligibility to apply for either, which must be obtained within 12 months of hire to maintain employment at Cook.
