    Staff Licensed Practical Nurse

    Copper Ridge is recruiting for a nurse to fill an LPN role in a skilled nursing facility setting. The charge nurse is a staff nurse position that has direct care responsibilities as well as supervising responsibilities.     Job Description

    • Observe and monitor residents' health and assess their needs to provide quality care
    • Work with physicians to create individual care plans and assist them during required operations or procedures
    • Maintain complete healthcare records and reports including PCC being utilized according to best practices
    • Supervise, manage, and assist in training CMA's and GNA's on staff
    • Perform routine procedures as needed, including administering medication and injections, and provide emergency medical care when necessary
    • Maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness within the facility
    • Collaborate with DON in maintaining adequate staffing coverage
    • Effectively utilize existing manpower to limit the amount of overtime/agency needed to support staffing
    • Assess work performance of nursing staff while on duty ensuring timeliness in services to our patients/residents
    • Maintain security of the facility, creating an environment that is respectful, team-oriented, and responsive to the needs of our staff, patients, and their families
    • Monitor nursing care to reduce hospitalizations and ensure positive outcomes
    • Encourage shift to shift communication between incoming and outgoing nursing staff
    • Review prospective admissions in relation to existing nursing capabilities and ensure readiness to treat
    • Ensure that patient's attending physician and family or responsible party are promptly notified of any significant change in the patient health condition
    • Investigate patient/family complaints and take appropriate actions to bring to resolution

    Requirements

    • Current state LPN
    • BLS/CPR certification
    • In-depth knowledge of nursing care methods and health and safety guidelines
    • Responsible and compassionate with outstanding organizational and communication skills
    • Experience supervising GNAs and CMAs in a nursing home setting
