    Licensed Practical Nurse - Night Shift

    Job Description

    • Work under the direction of a qualified professional nurse, participating in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care.
    • Communicate and collaborate with members of the multidisciplinary team, including medical staff, administration, clinicians, dietitians, and milieu personnel.
    • Provide direct and individualized nursing care to an assigned group of patients under the supervision of a registered professional nurse, ensuring patient safety and adherence to unit and hospital policies.
    • Assist in relevant health and psychiatric teaching for patients and families, serving as a role model for patients and peers.
    • Share responsibility for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care plans.
    • Effectively communicate with medical staff, receiving verbal/written orders while minimizing errors.
    • Prepare, administer, control, and accurately record medications in accordance with policy, documenting effects and any adverse reactions.
    • Observe, document, and report any clinical or personnel issues that could alter patient care to the R.N. in charge.
    • Safely perform vital signs, electrocardiograms, phlebotomy/labs, and diabetic/glucose monitoring, interpreting results and taking appropriate nursing action.
    • Provide coverage in emergency services as needed.

    Requirements

    • Graduation from an approved Licensed Practical Nursing Program.
    • One or more years of nursing experience within the clinical area of service provided by the facility is preferred.
