Medical Provider

Work Dates Needed: ASAP, ongoing, 40 hours per week.

Preferred Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week.

Worksite Setting: Correctional facility.

Job Description

• Provide a variety of professional medical services to adult male inmates, including examinations, diagnosis, medication prescriptions, and treatment follow-up.
• Monitor and review medical care standards and operations within the facility.
• Collaborate with the Health Services Supervisor on medical program leadership.
• Perform minor surgeries and occasional major surgeries if needed.
• Hold clinics for nursing staff and specialists to assist with diagnoses and treatment.
• Conduct clinical rounds and participate in treatment planning.
• Monitor hospitalizations and facilitate early releases when clinically appropriate.
• Ensure compliance with NCCHC/ACA/JCAHO accreditation standards.
• Maintain confidentiality of medical records and audit for accuracy.
• Handle emergency care situations, participate in investigations, and perform safety checks.
• Provide health counseling and education for inmates.

Requirements

• Active Ohio License and DEA.
