    Section Chief Psychiatry

    The Salisbury VA Health Care System is seeking a full-time Psychiatrist for the Charlotte Health Care Center. You will provide care to a diverse veteran population with a good deal of mental health-related issues, including but not limited to anxiety disorders, mood disorders, severe mental illness, substance use disorders, and medical co-morbidities.

    • 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday
    • Call coverage: At home, phone calls 10-12 days per year
    • Optional weekend inpatient coverage for additional pay

    Requirements

    • Board Certified/Eligible
    • Have a full, unrestricted medical license in any state
    • Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine
    • Residency training must have been completed and approved by the Secretary of Veteran Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification
    • US Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is impossible to recruit qualified citizens according to the VA Policy
    • Must have 2 years of leadership and supervisory experience
