    Family Practice or Internal Medicine Physician

    The Oklahoma VA Healthcare System (Enid Clinic) is actively recruiting and is seeking full-time board certified/board eligible Family Practice or Internal Medicine Physicians to join our Primary Care Health Team. The primary care provider will function as a highly skilled, independent care provider in the management of patients. You'll be part of an interdisciplinary care team with access to state-of-the-art medicine and some of the most advanced medical technologies available. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic member of a multidisciplinary team in the Primary Care setting. Independent workstyle is required, along with prior experience in primary care, internal medicine, family medicine, or women's health. The physician serves as a Primary Care Provider (PCP) at a Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC). The CBOC operates under a Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) Model. The PACT provides comprehensive care for our Veteran population, including the diagnoses, care, and treatment of both acute and chronic conditions. Common diagnoses encountered include diabetes, hypertension, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, degenerative arthritis, depression, congestive heart failure, and chronic pain. Community-based outpatient clinics allow Veterans to receive care close to where they live and increase access to health and wellness services.

    Job Description

    • Manage medical care for a panel of Veterans enrolled in Primary Care
    • Timely entry and use of the electronic medical record system for documentation, workload capture, alert management, and for review of Veterans' current and future medical care needs
    • Serve as the leader of the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT)
    • Cross-cover for other medical providers as needed throughout the health care system
    • Work in collaboration with PACT members to ensure the overall safety and quality of each Veteran's care
    • Responsible for all performance metrics related to patient quality of care
    • Responsible for positive customer service in all aspects of care
    • Participate in quality improvement, quality assurance, continuous survey readiness, and committee/work groups in collaboration with others
    • Maintain licensures and certifications requisite for credentials and privileges at the Oklahoma City VA Health Care System (OKC VAHCS)
    • Meet ethical and professional standards as written in the Medical Staff Bylaws and ensure that work relations are in compliance with facility standards and expectations as written and communicated

    Requirements

    • U.S. Citizens receive preference - non-U.S. Citizens may be considered
    • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the U.S.
    • Preferred Characteristics: Board Certified in Family Practice or Internal Medicine, but Board Eligibility may also be considered

    Benefits

    • Starting pay is $220,000 - $300,000 per year
    • A recruitment incentive may be offered, and there is potential for an annual performance bonus of up to $15,000
    • Retirement: Federal Retirement Plan through the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) - A three-tiered retirement plan composed of 1) Social Security benefits; 2) FERS-FRAE basic benefits (pension); and 3) Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) which is a 401K-type plan, with up to 5% government matching contributions

    • 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year, and possible 5-day paid absence for CME)

    • 1 full and unrestricted license from any U.S. State or territory
    • Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement for CME (must be full-time with board certification)
    • No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restrictions on moonlighting
